Victim Support is an independent charity, and we exist to support people affected by crime.
Although we work closely with the police and other criminal justice organisations, we are separate from them. You don’t have to report to the police to get support from us, and our services are confidential.
We can help to explain what will happen if you choose to report a crime, and we can help you to report if you need us to.
You can contact us no matter how long ago the crime took place.
Where are we based?
Our services are designed to be as easy as possible for you to access.
We can meet you in a venue near you, somewhere you feel comfortable and can easily access. Your Victim Care Advocate will talk to you about any help you might need in order to access support — please let us know of any worries you may have about this.
How are we funded?
Our service is funded jointly by Humberside and South Yorkshire’s Police and Crime Commissioners.
It’s important to both Police and Crime Commissioners that anyone who experiences crime in Humberside or South Yorkshire receives the help they need as soon as possible.
Both Commissioners are determined to put victims at the heart of everything they do and this is reflected in their police and crime plans.
